Unique Fire Drums heat up the night at Killarney Bonfire Night.
This year’s Bonfire Night will be held on Saturday 23 July, 2016.
Traditionally, a Fire Drum is a 44 Gallon Drum with axe holes knocked in for air; but for Bonfire Night the drums are “hotted up”. Cut up, welded and punched to make functional works of art.
The fire drums aren’t the only attraction, the bonfire night team have planned live country rock music by Bruce Halter, fireworks sponsored by Southern Downs Regional Council, a jumping castle, a multi-draw raffle and, of course, a giant bonfire.
Keep warm with winter food including beef and potato curry, pumpkin soup, BBQ, alpine desserts, popcorn and hot chips. For those with adult tastes, a can bar and traditional mulled wine will be offered.
Rug up and get out in the cold to celebrate Jumpers & Jazz in July and raise money for Killarney Memorial Aged Care.
Killarney Bonfire Night is supported by Killarney Memorial Aged Care Auxilliary, Killarney Lions Club, Killarney Rural Fire Brigade, Killarney Polocrosse Club and Killarney Rec Club.
